All new members, regardless of fitness level or athletic background, must attend our CrossFit Fundamentals Course. Our CrossFit Fundamentals Course is a practical training session. Athletes will learn CrossFit’s basic 9 fundamental movements while gaining knowledge of our philosophy and workout regimen. We emphasize client safety, building a community and learning terminology. We explain why CrossFit is known as the “Sport of Fitness”, and the importance behind “Intensity”. Upon completion of our CrossFit Fundamentals Course you will have the basic tools and understanding of the CrossFit program and be on your way to achieving optimal health and fitness.

CrossFit is defined as increased work capacity across broad time and modal domains. Capacity is the ability to do real work, which is measurable using the basic terms of physics (force, distance and time). Life is unpredictable (much more so than sport) so real world fitness must be broad and not specialized, both in terms of duration and type of effort (time and modal domains).
The magic is in the movements. All of CrossFit’s workouts are based on functional movements. These are the core movements of life, found everywhere, and built naturally into our DNA. They move the largest loads the longest distances so they are ideal for maximizing the amount of work done in the shortest time (intensity).

CrossFit is universally scalable to all levels of fitness regardless of age, gender, fitness background, injuries or deficiencies. Our trainers will modify all movements in order to fit your needs. Whether your goal is to lose body-fat, build muscle, or perform better at your particular sport, CrossFit will drive you to reach these goals.
Each of our New Athletes who come into the box are required to be scheduled for 2 private 1hour Fundamental Training Courses with an experienced coach. The Coach will take you through step by step the basic and advanced exercises used in our CrossFit Program to ensure that you are moving well and lifting safely before you join a group class. If more than 2 sessions are needed, our staff will be more than willing to schedule a third sessions to get you into the groove.
